Operating between TikTok Shop SPS 3.0 and 3.5
TikTok Shop’s Shop Performance Score is not simply a health metric that gradually removes benefits. Below 3.0, active affiliate and campaign participation ends; returning to those programs requires a score of at least 3.5.
For a US TikTok Shop seller, a Shop Performance Score (SPS) below 3.0 ends active affiliate marketing and campaign participation, and removes existing affiliate plans and campaign products. A seller needs an SPS of 3.5 or higher to regain eligibility. The 3.0–3.5 range is different: it does not reopen eligibility for new participation, but it is not the below-3.0 state that terminates active participation.
- Below 3.0 is a stop line that affects active affiliate plans and campaign products.
- Returning to 3.0 is not enough to regain eligibility; the stated threshold is 3.5 or higher.
- SPS reflects recent order performance across product satisfaction, fulfillment and logistics, and customer service.
- Treating 3.0–3.5 and below 3.0 as the same risk hides the correct response.
What stops when SPS falls below 3.0?
TikTok Shop says that when a merchant’s SPS falls below 3.0, active participation in affiliate marketing and campaigns is terminated. Existing affiliate marketing plans and campaign products are also removed. A creator plan can therefore change status because of the seller’s operating score even when the creator relationship itself has not changed.
This is not a minor reporting change. It can affect the affiliate plans a brand has already opened, the products it has enrolled in campaigns, and the route through which it expects to extend creator collaborations. A team that reads only sales or content volume may discover the constraint after it has already scheduled a broader creator program.
The practical question is not only “Can we work with creators?” Ask whether there are active affiliate plans, whether the team intends to create a new one, whether campaign products are already enrolled, and which of those facts a change in score would alter.
Why is the return threshold 3.5 instead of 3.0?
After an SPS below 3.0 has ended affiliate marketing and campaign participation, TikTok Shop says the merchant must achieve an SPS of 3.5 or higher to regain eligibility. The line that prevents a termination and the line that restores entry are different. Passing 3.0 should not be read as an automatic restoration of the prior program state.
That distinction changes operating dates. A score of 3.1 may mean the immediate below-3.0 condition is no longer present, while 0.4 points still separate the seller from the stated eligibility threshold for affiliate marketing and campaigns. If the team reports only that the score is “recovering,” it cannot tell what it has protected from what it still cannot reopen.
| SPS range | What it means for affiliate marketing and campaigns | What the team should decide now |
|---|---|---|
| 3.5 or higher | Meets the stated eligibility threshold for affiliate marketing and campaigns | Whether to operate new creator and campaign plans |
| 3.0 to below 3.5 | New participation eligibility is not open | Protect active work and narrow the causes of recovery work |
| Below 3.0 | Active affiliate participation ends; existing plans and campaign products are removed | Confirm the interruption and define a recovery plan before restarting |
These are not decorative quality bands. They answer three different operating questions: whether a brand can open new creator work, whether it can maintain work already in motion, and whether it must deal with an interruption to existing plans.
What creates an SPS?
TikTok Shop describes SPS as a score based on order performance across product satisfaction, fulfillment and logistics, and customer service. It says newer orders receive more weight, and it lists detailed measures relating to returns, refunds, delivery, and service within those three areas. The page does not describe creator views or advertising spend as direct inputs to SPS.
A creator program can therefore appear healthy while score risk remains elsewhere. More creator content may bring more orders, but delivery delays, customer-service failures, or product-satisfaction problems can leave a different record on those same orders. If a content team reads a score decline only as a creative or media problem, it may keep changing the wrong part of the operation.
| Operating area | What SPS is described as reflecting | Question to answer before expanding creator work |
|---|---|---|
| Product satisfaction | Measures associated with the product experience and post-order satisfaction | Are returns and refunds being reviewed by product and reason? |
| Fulfillment and logistics | Measures associated with delivery, cancellations, and order handling | Can stock, dispatch, and delivery exceptions keep pace with the creator schedule? |
| Customer service | Measures associated with buyer inquiries and service experience | Can the team handle the expected volume and response work after orders rise? |
This is not a method for reverse-engineering the score. It is a way to keep the operating conversation aligned with the areas TikTok Shop identifies. The platform documentation does not decide every improvement priority for a seller, but it does make clear that creator growth and order operations cannot be evaluated as the same fact.
What should a brand check before starting or expanding creator work?
Before starting or expanding creator collaborations, record three facts alongside the current SPS: the score range, the active affiliate plans and campaign products, and the order-operation issues that can change the score. This prevents the content, logistics, and customer-service teams from responding to one risk as though they were describing different problems.
Record the current range
Confirm whether the score is at least 3.5, from 3.0 to below 3.5, or below 3.0. A bare score without its operating range does not tell the team whether new participation is available.
Count work already attached to the program
List affiliate plans, campaign products, and creators with planned posts separately. That creates a visible impact list if the score crosses below 3.0.
Read order-operation signals separately
Check product satisfaction, fulfillment and logistics, and customer service for the relevant issue. Do not select a cause from views or sales reporting alone.
Keep commitments conditional before recovery
Do not schedule a new plan as certain before the score reaches the applicable eligibility threshold. Communicate the status of current work separately from the date on which new work may resume.
Reopen the official source before acting
SPS rules and benefits can change. Before actually creating a campaign or affiliate plan, check the current Seller Academy guidance. [^tiktok-shop-performance-score]
This is not a marketing-only checklist. It is the minimum sequence that lets a brand growing through creator collaborations determine whether product, fulfillment, and service capacity are moving at the same pace as demand.
What is the response order when SPS is already below 3.0?
If SPS is already below 3.0, first confirm which affiliate plans and campaign products have been affected. Then narrow the operational issue within the score’s three stated areas. Creating more content or changing creator terms should come after the team has established both the cause of the interruption and the stated condition for regaining eligibility.
| Fact to check first | Why it matters | Next decision |
|---|---|---|
| Current SPS and observation time | Separates the below-3.0 condition from a recovery range | Keep the current state distinct from the target state |
| Affiliate plans that ended or paused | Establishes impact from actual plans rather than an estimate | Decide what creators need to be told |
| Campaign products that were removed | Separates product status from the plan itself | List what may need to be set up again |
| Product satisfaction, fulfillment, and customer-service signals | Narrows the operating reason for the score risk | Assign the first correction to the appropriate team |
| Whether SPS is at least 3.5 | Tests the stated threshold for program eligibility | Decide whether a restart is possible now |
During recovery, do not communicate only that the score has risen. The team needs separate statements about whether it has passed 3.0, whether it has passed 3.5, whether an affected plan is actually usable again, and what order-operation issue still needs correction.
SPS is not a scorecard for creator performance. It is, however, a seller-operation condition that can determine whether creator programs remain open. Keep the score range, the affected plans, and the operating cause as separate facts rather than turning them into one generic health label.
Common questions
Can a brand start new creator work with an SPS of 3.1?
It should not be assumed. TikTok Shop says that an SPS of 3.5 or higher is required to regain eligibility for affiliate marketing and campaigns. The 3.0–3.5 range differs from the below-3.0 interruption state, but it is not the range in which the stated participation eligibility has returned. [^tiktok-shop-performance-score]
Do creators’ published posts disappear when SPS falls below 3.0?
The official guidance directly describes active affiliate marketing participation, existing affiliate plans, and campaign products. Whether a published post remains public is a separate question, so do not make that conclusion from the SPS rule alone. [^tiktok-shop-performance-score]
Can strong advertising or content performance recover SPS?
TikTok Shop describes SPS through order performance across product satisfaction, fulfillment and logistics, and customer service. It does not identify advertising spend or video views as direct score inputs. Even when content performs well, review the post-order operating signals separately. [^tiktok-shop-performance-score]
Do plans that ended below 3.0 automatically return at 3.5?
The guidance says 3.5 or higher restores eligibility for the programs. It does not, on its own, establish that every prior plan or product will automatically return in the same form. After eligibility is restored, confirm the live plan and product status in Seller Center. [^tiktok-shop-performance-score]
